Comments: Rosemary is a giant oceanic manta ray with an approximate wingspan of 15-16 feet. Steve has named her in honor of his bride of 47 years who graciously allows him to spend an inordinate amount of time underwater. Rosemary was first spotted near the ocean surface at Enenue in Molokini Crater where she was cruising in one direction, then reversed direction and did a couple of graceful loops posing for Steve. She did not seem to be concerned that a diver was nearby. This large manta is unique in that she is missing her entire tail. Although we can only speculate on how that may have happened, it did not seem to be causing her any difficulty.
